Our Privacy Principles
narcissisttools.org operates with no sign-up, no login, no message boards, no comments, and no community features. We do not ask for a name, contact information, or password to create any account.
Every tool on this site processes what you type or select inside your own browser. During normal use, nothing you enter into a tool is transmitted to our servers or to any outside AI service, and the tools do not write results, drafts, or progress to localStorage or sessionStorage. When you refresh or close the window, your current session ordinarily disappears. Exceptions arising from your browser's own restore features are described in Section 2.
That said, when you load a page, technical information may be processed in the course of hosting and security. Email inquiries are sent by you directly, and their handling is described separately below.
Section 1. Information We Do Not Collect
The site maintains no database linking tool inputs to any user identity. Information you send us directly โ such as an email inquiry โ is processed only as needed to respond to it.
| Item | Current practice |
|---|---|
| Name, email, password, username | There is no sign-up feature, so no account information is ever requested. |
| Posts, comments, profiles | There are no boards or community features, so none of these are created on the site. |
| Counseling records | This is not a counseling service, and no counseling records are collected. |
| What you type or select in the tools | Processed inside your browser during normal use. The site does not store it in any server-side account or database, or write it to browser storage. Refreshing or closing the window ordinarily clears your current input and progress. Browser-level restore exceptions are described in Section 2. Anything you paste directly into an outside AI service is governed by that service's own privacy policy. |
| Information shared elsewhere | When you share this site's link on an outside platform, the site does not collect or store your account, DMs, comments, or recipients. |
Section 2. Tool Inputs and Browser Storage
The tools on this site do not write results, drafts, or progress to localStorage or sessionStorage.
- What you type or select is processed only while you use the screen. Refreshing or closing the window ordinarily clears your current progress and results, and the site does not restore them automatically on your next visit. The site cannot, however, control your browser's own features such as the back/forward cache (BFCache), tab restore, or form autofill.
- Storage keys used by earlier versions of a tool may remain in your browser profile. Opening the current tool may run a cleanup that deletes known legacy keys. This cleanup does not read old values or store new ones.
- Legacy-key cleanup happens only when you open the relevant tool, and it does not delete other sites' data or files you downloaded yourself.
- The operator has no way to view or recover, from any server, what you typed into a tool or any values left in your browser storage.
Section 3. Hosting Logs and Third-Party Services
Visiting the site creates no account, but technical connection information may be processed in the course of hosting and security.
- Hosting and security logs: our web hosting provider (such as Vercel) may process IP addresses, access times, browser information, and request details to serve pages, investigate security issues, and respond to errors. Retention periods depend on service settings and the provider's policies.
- Anonymous usage statistics: to understand overall site usage, we use cookieless Vercel Web Analytics to aggregate page views and visit flows. Page URLs, access times, referrers, country, device type, browser, and operating system may be processed as anonymous statistics. The value used to distinguish visitors is derived from the request and resets every 24 hours. Names, emails, and anything you type or select in the tools are never sent to analytics.
- Fonts and assets: fonts and other assets are self-hosted on this site's own domain. Loading a page does not request fonts or scripts from third-party CDNs.
- External links and AI services: if you open an outside link, video, or AI service, or enter information there directly, that service's privacy policy applies.
- Processing location: the servers of services we rely on (Vercel, Google/Gmail) may be located in various regions. Actual processing locations and retention periods depend on each service's policy and settings.
- Advertising: the site runs no targeted advertising, and we do not sell โ and have never sold โ personal information for advertising or any other purpose.
Section 4. Sharing and Outside Platforms
The "spread the word" campaign collects nothing inside this site: not your name, account, who you shared with, DM contents, comments, or recipients.
- When you share the site's link on an outside platform โ social media, text message, email, forums โ that platform's privacy policy and terms apply.
- narcissisttools.org does not track or store your sharing activity anywhere.
- When sharing, do not post another person's name, accounts, private conversations, counseling records, or diagnostic information without their consent.
Section 5. Contact Email
When you email us, your sending address, message, attachments, and transmission details are processed by the operator and by our email provider, Google/Gmail.
We keep inquiry emails for as long as needed to reply and follow up. Once that purpose is fulfilled and the information is no longer needed, we delete it without undue delay โ except where retention is required by law or needed to handle a dispute, in which case we keep it only to the extent and for the time necessary.
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information contained in an inquiry email, contact the address in Section 8. Email transmission, storage, and backups are governed by Google/Gmail's own privacy policy and retention practices, so we cannot guarantee that every copy is erased immediately upon a deletion request.
Please do not send information we don't need to answer you: Social Security numbers, bank account or card numbers, passwords, home addresses, or other people's personal information.
Section 6. Records That May Remain on Your Device
While the tools do not write new results or drafts to browser storage, files you download yourself and records your device or browser manages can remain separately. The operator cannot access records on your device or delete them for you.
Records to check separately
- Downloaded files: any TXT or image files you download remain in your downloads folder or wherever you saved them, independent of browser storage.
- Clipboard: sentences you copy can remain in your device or browser clipboard. Whether they persist until you copy something else or clear them in settings depends on your environment.
- Browser history: browsing history and download history are managed separately from downloaded files. Deleting a file can leave the download record; clearing the record can leave the file.
- Different deletion scopes: legacy-key cleanup does not delete TXT/image files, the clipboard, browsing history, or download history โ check each one as needed.
- Private or Incognito mode can reduce some records left in a normal window, but it does not automatically delete downloaded files or your device clipboard.
- If someone else may check your device, or you suspect your device is being monitored, be careful โ suddenly deleting files, clipboard contents, or history can itself create risk. Where possible, review this material first on a separate, safer device and network.
Section 7. Children's Privacy
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. In line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the site collects no account information from anyone, no such data is gathered in normal operation; if we learn that a child under 13 has sent us personal information by email, we will delete it.
Section 8. Your Rights, Questions, and Changes
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a halt to processing of the inquiry-email information we hold. Email the address below and we will act in good faith, after identity verification where appropriate.
For California residents: the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides rights to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. This site does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and it collects no personal information in normal operation other than what you email us. To exercise any right regarding an email you sent, use the contact below.
Because current tool sessions are stored neither on our servers nor in browser storage, the operator cannot view or recover them. For files you downloaded, the clipboard, and browsing or download history, see Section 6.
If the site's features or operations change, this policy will be revised and posted to match actual practice.
If our response does not resolve your concern, you may also contact the Federal Trade Commission, opens in a new window or your state attorney general's office.
