Narcissist Behavior Q&A
📣 The put-downs only come with an audience
Healthy work feedback and public humiliation in front of the room are plainly different things.
The short answer
Even when work needs fixing, nothing justifies being mocked in front of a room.
Scenes like this
- In the meeting, the laughter reached your looks and personality — nothing to do with the mistake.
- Alone, everything was fine; in front of people, you were incompetent.
How to tell the difference
Does it say what to fix and how — or does it only deliver the shame?
When this happens, try this
- Record, factually: the date of the public reprimand, who was in the room, and the insulting words used.
- Request it with composure: "I'd appreciate work corrections by email or in a one-on-one."
