About These Terms

These terms set out the conditions, rules of use, and allocation of rights and responsibilities for the content and tools provided by narcissisttools.org (the "site"). By using the site, you agree to these terms.

The site offers self-understanding tools, relationship self-check materials, and recovery resources that require no sign-up. Because there are no user accounts or public boards, there are no account-deletion or post-removal procedures. For how contact email and connection data are handled, see the Privacy Policy.

Operating Principles at a Glance

Principle How it applies today
No sign-up There is no account creation, login, or deletion process.
Currently free All published content and self-check tools are currently free to use.
Informational only Reference material for understanding relationships and yourself; not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment, counseling, or legal advice.
No browser storage What you type into a tool is processed only transiently in browser memory and is not written to storage (localStorage, etc.). It ordinarily disappears on refresh or close; the site cannot control your browser's own restore features.
AI worksheet tools Some tools generate, in your browser, question sheets or example sentences you can copy into an outside AI service. Nothing is transmitted to any AI service automatically during normal use.
Spread the word A voluntary way to pass the site's link to someone who could use its help.

Section 1. Nature and Purpose of the Service

The site provides information and self-check tools to help you sort out the words, behavior, repeating patterns, and everyday changes that come out of a relationship.

  • All material is reference content designed to aid understanding.
  • The site is not a medical, counseling, or legal provider, and offers no diagnosis, treatment, counseling, or legal advice.
  • Tool results alone cannot establish anyone's personality, condition, or hidden intentions.
  • Important decisions should weigh what was actually said and done, your current circumstances, and your personal safety — and, where needed, the advice of a qualified professional.

Section 2. How Use and Data Handling Work

Anyone may access and use the site with no registration.

  • Using the public content and tools requires no name, email, password, or username.
  • What you type or select in a tool is processed only transiently inside your browser; it is not stored on our servers or in browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage, etc.). Because the site neither stores nor auto-restores data, refreshing or closing the window ordinarily clears your input and results. The site cannot control browser-level features such as the back/forward cache (BFCache), tab restore, or form autofill.
  • Some tools can generate, in your browser, question sheets or example sentences for use with outside AI services. Nothing is transmitted to the operator or to any AI service automatically during normal use; if you enter content into an outside service yourself, that service's terms and privacy policy apply.
  • Technical information processed during connection and contact email are governed by the Privacy Policy.
  • Spread the word is voluntary participation in passing the link along; it is never a precondition for using the public content and tools.

Section 3. Spread the Word

All published content and self-check tools are currently free.

Spread the word is a voluntary invitation to pass the site's link to someone who could use it.

  • You may share the site however feels safe and low-pressure — an alt account, a DM, a private message, a text.
  • Sharing is entirely your choice; everything on the site remains equally available whether you share or not.
  • Spread the word does not constitute ambassador work, counseling, reporting, or case review of any kind.

Section 4. Tool Results and Other People's Rights

Tool results are reference material for organizing your own experience. They are not evidence establishing anyone's diagnosis, hidden intent, or unlawful conduct.

  • Do not use tool results to publicly diagnose a specific person, or to assert a disorder or intent in ways that defame them.
  • Using tool results to threaten, pressure, humiliate, or publicly disparage anyone is prohibited.
  • When sharing publicly, do not post another person's name, accounts, family relationships, counseling or health records, or private conversations without their consent.
  • If you need to share, remove identifying details first and consider the audience and others' rights.
  • If you need material for a report, legal consultation, or dispute, ask the relevant agency or professional about safe ways to submit and use it.

Section 5. Acceptable Use

To keep the site safe and available, the following are prohibited:

  • Copying the site's materials or tools for sale or commercial redistribution without permission
  • Bulk-harvesting the site with automated tools, imposing excessive load, or circumventing security measures
  • Using the site's content in ways that violate other people's rights or reputation
  • Using tool results to pronounce judgment on, threaten, or attack another person
  • Violating applicable law or interfering with the site's normal operation

Section 6. Intellectual Property and Data-Use Limits

The site's writing, question wording, tool designs, and screen layouts were created by the site or are used with proper authorization. The scope of protection for each element follows copyright law and other applicable law.

  • You are free to read and use everything here for personal self-understanding and recovery.
  • The fact that content is publicly accessible does not waive copyright or grant permission for commercial use.
  • Without the site's prior written consent, you may not mass-copy, republish, sell, scrape, build datasets from, or use the content for AI training.
  • Use within fair use and lawful quotation remains permitted under applicable copyright law.
  • When quoting, use only the minimum necessary and clearly credit the source.

Section 7. Changes and Interruptions to the Service

Features or content may be modified or discontinued for operational needs, security issues, content improvements, or changes in third-party services.

Significant changes will be announced in advance; urgent security responses and outage recovery may proceed without prior notice.

Service may also be limited by events beyond the operator's control — natural disasters, network or hosting failures, or third-party outages. This section does not exclude any responsibility the site bears under applicable law.

Section 8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. The site does not warrant that content is complete, current, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Section 9. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before pursuing formal proceedings, please contact us — most concerns can be resolved directly. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you hold under the consumer protection laws of your place of residence.

Section 10. Changes to These Terms and Contact

These terms may change with site policy or applicable law. When revised, the effective date and key changes will be posted on this page. Where law requires separate notice or consent, that procedure will be followed.
