Narcissism Glossary

Cropping out the pressure, blaming only your reaction (reactive abuse)

๐Ÿ˜ก Reactive abuse is a community term for the scene where, after sustained criticism or pressure, one person cries, shouts, or reacts hard โ€” and only that final reaction gets shown, with everything before it cut away.

View the preceding pressure and the final reaction in time order โ€” while examining each person's actual behavior, and its responsibility, separately.

Often seen in situations like these

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Worn down by relentless criticism, you shout โ€” and instantly: "See how threatening you get? This is why I'm leaving!"
๐Ÿ“น They secretly film you crying and show people, casting you as 'the unstable one.'

When this happens, try this

๐Ÿ’ก Write the sequence: what they said and did, then what you did at the end. Their pressure doesn't erase anything you did โ€” insults, threats, breaking things, shoving. Examine those separately too, and get help if needed.
