Destabilizing through third parties (triangulation)
🔺 Triangulation is pulling a third party into a two-person problem — for comparison, or to force the taking of sides.
Often seen in situations like these
🗣️ "My ex understood all of this — what's wrong with you?"
🗣️ Their closeness with someone else keeps getting performed in front of you.
🗣️ The children get asked "who do you love more, Mom or Dad?" — and split into sides.

When this happens, try this
💡 A comparison is not an exam of your worth. When it starts, stepping back is allowed. So is the line: "Please don't compare me to them. This is between the two of us."
