Narcissist Behavior Q&A
๐ฃ When I refuse, they push back with "don't you love me?"
A yes extracted through guilt is not real consent. You are under no obligation to go along with sexual demands you don't want.
The short answer
Sulking, blaming, or threatening a breakup to extract sexual consent is pressure too.
When this happens, try this
- Only when it's safe to speak up, say it short and firm: โI don't want to right now.โ If you feel threatened, skip the long explanation โ get somewhere safe and ask for help.
- Contact the RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline (800-656-4673) for support, and in an emergency call 911 immediately.
Scenes like this
- You refused, and they said they'd find someone else.
- They brought up gifts and what dates cost, saying you owed them.
How to tell the difference
They can say they're hurt. But threatening consequences for a no is pressure.
