Narcissist Behavior Q&A
๐ They constantly check my location and routes
You should be able to turn off location sharing whenever you choose. If even turning it off feels frightening and dangerous, don't disable it alone on impulse.
The short answer
Sharing location for mutual convenience is one thing. Being obligated to report your every movement is another.
When this happens, try this
- From a safe device, calmly review your account's location-sharing settings and any Bluetooth tracker alerts (an AirTag-style device, for example).
- Confronting them directly can put you at greater risk, so photograph and log any tracker you find, and if a threat arises, call 911 immediately.
Scenes like this
- They video-called to check on you because your route home looked different.
- You suspected a tracking device hidden in your car or bag.
How to tell the difference
A feature both of you turned on for convenience is different from anger when you turn it off, or tracking you in secret.
