Narcissist Behavior Q&A
🌀 Mid-conversation, I lose track of what I meant to say
Anyone gets muddled and worn out when tangent chains onto tangent. Don't get entangled — handle just the one problem in front of you.
The short answer
The conversation getting tangled doesn't make your point wrong.
Scenes like this
- You asked about one promise, and out came your mistake from years ago.
- Every time you tried to answer, one word got seized into a brand-new argument.
How to tell the difference
Sometimes related history matters. Watch whether they keep producing new problems while the original question goes unanswered.
When this happens, try this
Restate the original question: "I want to settle this question first." If the subject keeps changing, it's fine to stop the conversation and send only the essentials by text.
