Narcissist Behavior Q&A
👥 "Everyone says you're the problem" — is that true?
"Other people think you're off too" is an inflated claim you can't easily verify. There's no need to shrink in advance before pressure that hides behind an anonymous crowd.
The short answer
"Everyone says so" is not, by itself, proof that you're wrong.
Scenes like this
- They claimed the whole family calls you selfish.
- They said coworkers hate how you work — but no names.
How to tell the difference
Unattributed opinions can be real. But only specifics — who said what, in what situation — can be verified. That's different from shutting you down with a content-free "everyone agrees."
When this happens, try this
Instead of interrogating who said it, ask specifically which behavior was the problem. If there's nothing to verify, that line alone doesn't have to become your verdict.
